On
June 3rd we took the first steps on the path towards our
expansion plans by opening an office in Dundee. Overseeing
the new office is Neil Dillon. Neil began working with DNV in June
last year. He came into the business with no previous marketing or
sales experience having previously had a career as a footballer
having played for Celtic F.C. and Chelsea at Under 19 level. Coming
from a sporting background, Neil is an extremely competitive, determined and hard
working individual who always gives 100% to everything
he does to assure he succeeds making him the perfect candidate for our Business Development
Programme. It's a 6 to 12 month programme
that breaks down into different stages of development including:
Administration, Campaign Management, Client Relations, Marketing,
Public Speaking, Recruitment and Sales. Progression is based on results rather than seniority because people
learn at a different pace and some are willing to work harder than
others. We believe in rewarding people for their work ethic and
student mentality rather than the length of time they've worked with
the company or any previous experience/qualifications they may have.
Neil is a great example of how someone can come into our business
having no relevant industry experience but armed with the right
attitude and provided with the correct coaching/mentoring/training
and the opportunity to enter into our Business Development Programme
the possibility of development and success is very achievable. We have sent some
of our top performers to Dundee in order to ensure we hit the
ground running. Abbey Stirling who won the Rising Star award at the
awards ceremony in London at the start of the year is one. Abbey has big goals
and she is one of the people we will be looking to take to Australia
with us as we embark on breaking into the international market in 2014. The group in Dundee have gotten off to a flyer. It's a really exciting time for everyone involved
with DNV Global Solutions as we are expanding both in Dundee and
Glasgow.
